Before delivery day

Porta potty placement checklist

Six quick checks before the truck shows up.

1

Level, firm ground

A driveway, gravel or flat lawn works. Mild slopes are fine. Steep grades are not.

2

Truck within 25 feet

The service truck must park within about 25 feet of the unit. That is the vacuum hose reach.

3

A 48-inch gate

Backyard spots need a gate at least 48 inches wide and a level path. Units never go through houses.

4

Give it 10 feet

Keep the unit about 10 feet from windows, doors and AC intakes when possible.

5

Look up and down

Stay clear of low wires and tree limbs. Never set a unit over septic lids or sprinkler heads.

6

Street or sidewalk?

Cincinnati requires a DOTE right-of-way permit for public street placement. Private property needs no city permit.

Steep drive or tight yard?
