Butler County road right-of-way and porta potty permits

A porta potty inside a Butler County road right-of-way needs a permit from the Butler County Engineer's Office. Township roads in places like Liberty or Ross Township go through the township. Units on private land, such as a jobsite lot or a home driveway, need no right-of-way permit. City streets follow each city's rules.

The engineer's office posts its permit application forms, including the right-of-way permit application (PDF).

Inside the City of Hamilton, street placement goes through the city's Engineering Department. Our Hamilton porta potty page covers those city rules.

Butler County health districts and event food

Butler County has three health departments. The Butler County General Health District covers most of the county, while the cities of Hamilton and Middletown run their own. Food vendors at a church festival, school carnival or township picnic should check with the right department for food-event rules before the restroom order is final.

Start with the Butler County General Health District for township and village events. We do not issue food permits or speak for any health office.

For restroom planning, we recommend 1 handwashing station for every 2–3 standard units when food is served. Each station has two foot-pump sinks and no power cord.

Common porta potty jobs in Butler County

Butler County porta potty work centers on new housing and warehouses along I-75 in West Chester and Liberty Township. July brings the Butler County Fair to the fairgrounds on Fairgrove Avenue in Hamilton. Tournaments at Spooky Nook Sports Champion Mill and summer events along the Great Miami River add weekend crowds.

Worked example: a 500-guest summer festival

Our event planning table gives 9 standard units for 500 guests over 7–8 hours. Add 1 unit for alcohol, for 10 standard units. Add at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit near the main cluster.

With food on site, plan 4 to 5 handwashing stations, about 1 for every 2–3 standard units. A multi-day event gets between-day service, quoted per visit. See festival porta potties for cluster layouts.

Butler County porta potty questions

Do you bring porta potties to West Chester and Liberty Township?

West Chester Township and Liberty Township are on our core Butler County route, reached by I-75 from our Bond Hill yard. Same-day delivery is usually possible when you order before 12 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Builders opening new phases can keep units on 28-day billing with weekly service included.

Which office handles a porta potty permit on a Butler County road?

The Butler County Engineer's Office takes right-of-way permit applications for county roads, and its permit forms are posted at bceo.org. A township road goes through that township. Units on a private driveway or lot need no right-of-way permit. Confirm the rules with the road owner before delivery.

Can I get porta potties for a farm party out in Ross or Milford Township?

Rural Butler County townships such as Ross, Milford and Reily ride the same core route as the cities. Mark a level spot the service truck can reach within about 25 feet. Gravel drives and flat lawns work well, so tell dispatch about soft ground, narrow gates or steep grades before delivery.

Does an Oxford address cost more than one in Fairfield?

Your ZIP is one of five things that set the price, so an Oxford address can price differently than Fairfield. Every quote is itemized with the unit, delivery, pickup, servicing and tax. Delivery and pickup on the core route typically start at $50 per address before tax; your itemized quote is final.

Do the Hamilton and Middletown health departments have their own event rules?

The cities of Hamilton and Middletown run their own health departments, separate from the Butler County General Health District. Food vendors should check with the department that covers the event address for food-event rules. Our part is the restrooms and handwashing stations, sized from our event planning table.

Can a jobsite unit get serviced twice a week for a big framing crew?

Twice-weekly service can be added to any 28-day rental in Butler County. Weekly service is already included and covers pump-out, sanitizing, fresh deodorizer and restocked paper and sanitizer. Each extra visit is quoted per visit, which keeps a crew of more than 10 workers per unit in a clean restroom all week.
