Festival porta potty rental in Ohio: how many units for a large event?
A festival of 1,000 people lasting 7–8 hours needs 16 standard porta potties on our event planning table. A 500-person, 5–6 hour fair needs 8. Add 1 unit when alcohol is served and 1 more when more than half of attendees are women. Count peak attendance on site at one time, not total tickets.

Worked example: a one-day street festival
Picture 1,000 people on site from noon to 8 p.m. with a beer garden. The 7–8 hour column gives 16 units, and alcohol adds 1, for 17 units.
Split them into 3 clusters: 6 at the main gate, 6 at the food court and 5 by the stage. Each cluster gets at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit within its count. How should porta potty clusters be laid out?
Lay out festival porta potties in 3–4 clusters where crowds gather: the main gate, the food court, the stage and the beer garden. Put each cluster on level, firm ground with a service truck lane within about 25 feet. Keep clusters a short walk from food tents, not beside them, and clear of stage power runs.
- Face doors toward the crowd so people see open units, not the backs.
- Set handwashing stations at the exit end of each row.
- Place accessible units at the end nearest a paved or firm path.
- Keep units off the low ground at riverfront sites; flood-prone grass turns soft after rain.

Accessible units and handwashing stations at large events
The 2010 ADA Standards §213.2 call for at least 5% of portable toilets in each cluster to be accessible, with a minimum of 1 per cluster. Plan 1 handwashing station for every 2–3 standard units when food is served. Each station has 2 sinks and handles nearly 350 uses per fill, per the manufacturer.

A wheelchair-accessible porta potty has a ground-level floor, a 32-inch-wide door opening and handrails. Each accessible unit needs a flat, firm path to the door, so do not drop it on the far side of a curb or a slope.
Multi-day fairs and tournaments: between-day service
A fair or tournament running 2 or more days needs service between days, quoted per visit. Each visit pumps tanks, cleans and sanitizes, restocks toilet paper and hand sanitizer, and refills handwashing stations. Service runs 7 a.m.–7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, so Sunday days get their service on Saturday.
For a weekend soccer or baseball tournament, a Saturday-morning visit before the first game usually keeps units usable through Sunday. A week-long county fair gets daily service. The flat event price covers up to 7 days on site.

Writing the sanitation plan for a Cincinnati Parks event
Cincinnati Parks events must include a sanitation and waste removal plan in the event profile, due 45 days before the event. The plan should list the number of units, accessible units and handwashing stations, where each cluster stands, and the service schedule. Our itemized quote gives you those 4 numbers in writing.

Rules differ by city. Some cities, like Mason, require adequate restroom capacity including restrooms for people with disabilities, handwashing stations in the sanitation plan, and service during the event. Confirm the rules with your permit office or venue before you finalize the count.

How many porta potties do we need for 1,000 people at a festival?
A 1,000-person festival lasting 7–8 hours needs 16 standard units on our event planning table, and 17 with alcohol. A 3–4 hour concert for 1,000 people needs 10. Make at least 5% of the units in each cluster wheelchair-accessible, with a minimum of 1 per cluster.
How many accessible porta potties does a festival need?

How many porta potties for a 5K run?
A 5K with 500 runners and spectators over 3–4 hours needs 6 standard units on our event planning table. Put most of them near the start line, where lines form before the gun. Add a handwashing station near any food table, and at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit.
Can the porta potties stay at the park overnight during a weekend event?
Units stay at the park overnight for a multi-day event, and each unit has an occupancy latch plus a padlock hasp for your own lock. If a unit is tipped or vandalized, call (513) 270-1174 and we return to clean it. Set clusters in lit areas along your security route.
Do you need a site map before delivery?
A site map with each cluster marked speeds up a large festival delivery. Show gates, the truck route, overhead wires and soft ground, and note where food vendors set up. Our driver sets units where the map shows, as long as the service truck can park within about 25 feet.
Can you deliver festival units outside Cincinnati, like Dayton or Akron?
Dayton-area festivals get same-day delivery when a truck is routed north, and next-day otherwise. Northeast Ohio events in places like Akron or Canton run on scheduled routes more than 200 miles from our Cincinnati yard, so book at least 2 days ahead and call to confirm the route.
