What sets the price of a porta potty rental?
Five things set the price of a porta potty rental: the delivery ZIP, the unit type, the dates and length of the rental, the servicing schedule, and the number of units. Change any one of the five and the quote changes. Placement notes and gate codes do not move the price.
- Location (ZIP). Core Greater Cincinnati addresses get the lowest delivery line. Dayton-area and Northeast Ohio route addresses cost more to reach.
- Unit type. A standard unit is the lowest price. Flushing units, cabins and trailers cost more because they carry more equipment.
- Dates and length. Up to 7 days is one event price. Longer jobs move to 28-day cycles. Same-day orders may add a rush fee.
- Servicing. Weekly service is included on 28-day rentals. Extra visits for big crews or multi-day festivals are quoted per visit.
- Quantity. More units means more rental lines, but they share one delivery charge. Multi-unit rates are available on request.
What does an itemized porta potty quote include?
An itemized porta potty quote includes five lines: the unit rental, delivery and pickup, servicing, any rush fee, and sales tax. The quote total at the bottom is the total you pay. We do not add a fuel surcharge, a deposit or any fee at delivery that was not on the quote.
Event orders are paid at booking by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover. Approved contractor accounts can pay by ACH, business check or net-30 invoice, and we accept purchase orders. Drivers never collect payment on site.
How do event pricing and 28-day billing work?
Event pricing is one flat rate for up to 7 days on site, never per hour or per day. Construction and long-term pricing bills every 28 days with weekly service included. A 28-day cycle is not a calendar month, so a year holds 13 cycles, not 12. Cycles are not prorated.
Event flat rate
One price covers delivery day through pickup day, up to 7 days. A Sunday event gets a Friday or Saturday drop-off and a Monday pickup with no extra rental charge, because we do not run trucks on Sunday.
The unit arrives cleaned, sanitized and stocked. Weekend events usually need no mid-event service.
28-day cycle
Each cycle runs 28 days from delivery and includes weekly pump-out, cleaning and restock. The first invoice includes delivery, and pickup is billed at the end.
We send a reminder 3 days before each new cycle starts. When you call or text for pickup, billing stops with the cycle in progress. See monthly porta potty rentals for service details.
What does a typical porta potty rental cost? Two worked examples
A 100-guest backyard party lasting 4 hours needs 2 standard units, which typically starts at $380 before tax with delivery. A 90-day remodel with 1 standard unit runs 4 billing cycles, because 3 cycles cover only 84 days. That remodel typically starts at $650 before tax, delivery and pickup included.
Backyard graduation party: 100 guests, 4 hours
| Line | Math | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Standard porta potties | 2 units × $165 | $330 |
| Delivery and pickup | 1 address | $50 |
| Subtotal | Before sales tax | $380 |
| Optional handwashing station | If food is served: 1 × $120 | $500 with the station |
Kitchen and bath remodel: 1 unit for 90 days
| Line | Math | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Cycles needed | 90 days ÷ 28 = 3.2, so 4 cycles (3 cycles end on day 84) | 4 cycles |
| Standard porta potty | 4 cycles × $150 | $600 |
| Delivery and pickup | Delivery on first invoice, pickup on last | $50 |
| Subtotal | Before sales tax | $650 |
If that remodel wraps up by day 84, call for pickup before the 3-day reminder and you pay 3 cycles, or $450 plus delivery, instead of 4. See our porta potty guide for home remodels for timing tips.
How can I lower the cost of a porta potty rental?
The cost of a porta potty rental drops when you book a day ahead to skip any rush fee, send every unit to one address so they share one delivery charge, rent the right count instead of extras, and schedule pickup before a new 28-day cycle starts. Long-term and multi-unit rates are available on request.
- Book a day ahead. Next-day delivery is our standard. Same-day orders may carry a rush fee.
- Order the right count. Use the porta potty calculator so you are not paying for units nobody uses.
- Compare deluxe vs standard plus a sink. For one unit, a deluxe at $275 costs less than a standard plus a handwashing station at $285. For three units, three standards plus one station ($615) cost less than three deluxe units ($825).
- Watch the cycle date. Our reminder comes 3 days before each new cycle. Schedule pickup before it starts.
- Ask about contractor rates. Crews that keep several units out for months can ask for a long-term rate.
Which porta potty rental fees do we charge, and which don't we?
We charge for the unit rental, the delivery and pickup round trip, any extra service visits, a same-day rush fee when one applies, and sales tax. We do not charge a fuel surcharge, a deposit, a separate pickup fee or a lock fee. Every charge shows on the quote before you pay.
| Charge | Do we charge it? | How it works |
|---|---|---|
| Unit rental | Charged | Per event or per 28-day cycle |
| Delivery and pickup | Charged once | One round trip per address; pickup is not billed separately |
| Weekly service on 28-day rentals | Included | Pump-out, cleaning, deodorizer and restock |
| Extra service visits | Charged when ordered | Quoted per visit for big crews or multi-day events |
| Same-day rush fee | Sometimes | Shown on the quote before you pay |
| Sales tax | Charged | Removed for tax-exempt orders with a certificate |
| Fuel surcharge | Never | The quote total is the total |
| Deposit | Never | Event orders are paid once, at booking |
| Occupancy latch and padlock hasp | No charge | Bring your own padlock; we remove it at pickup |
Damage beyond normal use, like fire or vandalism, is covered in our rental terms.
Do tax-exempt groups pay sales tax on a porta potty rental?
Tax-exempt groups do not pay sales tax on a porta potty rental once we have the exemption certificate. Churches, schools, nonprofits and government buyers send the certificate with the quote request, and we remove the sales tax line. The rest of the itemized quote stays the same.
Send the certificate before delivery day so the tax line comes off the first quote.

Porta potty price questions
If I keep the porta potty four days instead of two, is it the same price?
Four days costs the same as two. An event rental is one flat price for up to 7 days on site, so a Thursday drop-off and a Monday pickup for a Saturday party is still one event period. Past 7 days, we quote the added time before it starts.
Are drop-off and pickup included in that price?
Delivery and pickup are one round-trip charge, typically starting at $50 per address on our core Greater Cincinnati route. There is no separate pickup fee on top. Every unit going to the same address rides the same truck and shares that one round-trip charge.
Is the quote the out-the-door price with tax?
The quote total is the out-the-door price. Each quote lists the unit rental, delivery and pickup, servicing, any rush fee and sales tax as separate lines, then one total. Nothing is added at delivery, and there is no fuel surcharge.
I only need a jobsite unit for three weeks. Am I charged the full cycle?
A 28-day cycle is billed in full and is not prorated, so three weeks costs one full cycle. That cycle still includes weekly service. Call or text us when you are done, and billing stops at the end of the cycle in progress.
Do churches and nonprofits get a discount?
Tax-exempt churches, schools and nonprofits pay no sales tax once we have the exemption certificate on file. Send it with your quote request and we remove the tax line. Multi-unit and long-term rates are also available on request for any customer.
Does my address change the price?
The delivery ZIP is the first thing that sets the price. Addresses on our core Greater Cincinnati route get the lowest delivery rate. Dayton-area and Northeast Ohio addresses ride longer routes, so the delivery line on those quotes is higher.
What does a deluxe flushing unit cost compared to a standard one?
A deluxe flushing unit with an inside sink typically starts at $275 for an event, compared with $165 for a standard unit. Both are starting prices before tax. The deluxe adds a foot-pump flush, a sink, soap and paper towels, with no water or power hookup needed.
Can I get an itemized quote for a purchase order?
Every quote we send is already itemized by line, which is what most purchasing offices need. We accept purchase orders, and approved contractor accounts can pay by ACH, business check or net-30 invoice. Tell us the PO number when you book.
