Porta potty rental questions about delivery and timing
Delivery runs Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m., from our Bond Hill yard. Call before 12 p.m. and same-day delivery is usually possible inside the Greater Cincinnati route; later calls go on the next route. Sunday events get Saturday or Friday delivery. Nobody needs to be on site when the spot is marked.
Can you bring a porta potty out to us this afternoon?
Same-day delivery is usually possible inside the Greater Cincinnati route when the order comes in before 12 p.m., Monday through Saturday. A same-day order may add a rush fee, and the rush fee shows on the quote before you pay. Call dispatch at (513) 270-1174 as early in the morning as you can.
I'm calling late in the day. Can I still get a unit tomorrow?
Next-day delivery is our standard for orders placed the day before, so an afternoon order usually lands on the next morning's route. Phones stay open until 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday. A Saturday afternoon order rolls to Monday, because trucks do not run on Sunday.
Can the porta potty be delivered tonight?
Deliveries run between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., and we do not deliver at night. An order placed after noon goes on the next route. For an evening event, book delivery for earlier that day or the day before, so the unit is set before guests arrive.
Can you drop the unit off the day before my party?
Day-before delivery is common and adds no rental cost, because event pricing is one flat rate for up to 7 days on site. A Friday drop-off for a Saturday party keeps the truck out of the driveway while guests arrive. See short-term porta potty rentals for one-day to one-week plans.
The unit has to be in place by 6 a.m. Can you make that work?
Delivery starts at 7 a.m., so a unit needed by 6 a.m. should arrive the day before. For a later morning start, you can request a “before 9 a.m.” window instead. The event flat rate covers up to 7 days on site, so the extra day costs nothing more.
If I book a Friday delivery, what time will the truck show up?
A Friday delivery arrives between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. We cannot promise an exact minute, but you can request “before 9 a.m.” or “before noon” on the order. The driver calls or texts about 30 minutes before arrival, so you know when the truck is close.
We have an event on Sunday. How does delivery work?
Sunday events get Saturday or Friday delivery and Monday pickup, at no extra rental charge. Trucks do not run on Sunday, so the unit stays on site through the weekend. Saturday delivery and pickup are available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Where is your yard, and are you a local company?
Mathew Rental Works runs from a yard at 1756 Tennessee Ave in Bond Hill, Cincinnati, OH 45229. Owner Mathew handles dispatch and routing himself, so the person quoting your rental also schedules the truck. Phones are open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Do you deliver to Dayton or Springfield?
Dayton, Kettering, Beavercreek and Springfield get same-day delivery when a truck is already routed north, and next-day delivery otherwise. Call dispatch to check the route for your date. See every city and county on our delivery routes.
Do you serve Northeast Ohio towns like Akron and Canton?
Akron, Canton, Parma, Lorain, Elyria and Mentor are served on scheduled routes, more than 200 miles from the Cincinnati yard. Book at least 2 days ahead. Same-day delivery in Northeast Ohio only happens when a route truck is already in the area, so call first.
Can I haul a porta potty home in my own truck?
Every porta potty goes out and comes back on a Mathew Rental Works truck, so self-pickup is not offered. The driver sets the unit level in the spot you mark. Delivery and pickup on the core route typically start at $50 round trip per address, before tax.
Pricing, fees and payment questions
A standard porta potty for an event typically starts at $165 for up to 7 days, and a construction unit typically starts at $150 per 28 days with weekly service. Delivery and pickup typically start at $50 round trip per address. Every quote is itemized with sales tax included, and your itemized quote is final.
Can you give me a ballpark price over the phone?
Dispatch can give a ballpark on the phone, then send one itemized quote. As a guide, a standard event unit typically starts at $165 and a deluxe flushing unit at $275, before tax. Your itemized quote is final. The porta potty rental cost guide lists every starting price.
Do you have a one-day rental rate?
Event rentals use one flat price for up to 7 days on site, so a one-day party and a five-day rental cost the same. A standard event unit typically starts at $165 before tax. We do not sell hourly or daily rates.
If I keep the unit four days instead of one, does the price change?
The price stays the same for four days, because the event flat rate covers up to 7 days on site. Projects longer than a week move to 28-day billing with weekly service included. A standard 28-day unit typically starts at $150 before tax.
I only need a unit for three weeks. Am I paying for a full month?
A long-term rental bills in 28-day cycles, and a cycle is not prorated. Three weeks falls inside one 28-day cycle, so you pay for one cycle. A standard construction unit typically starts at $150 per 28 days with weekly service, before tax.
Does an early pickup lower my bill?
Billing stops on the pickup date, but the 28-day cycle in progress is not prorated, so an early pickup does not shrink the current cycle. Event rentals are one flat rate for up to 7 days on site. Call or text dispatch to schedule an early pickup.
How much is the delivery fee, and is pickup extra?
Delivery and pickup on the core Greater Cincinnati route typically start at $50 round trip per address. That one charge covers both trips, and all units on one truck share the charge. Construction rentals put delivery on the first invoice and bill pickup at the end.
Is weekly cleaning an extra charge on a monthly rental?
Weekly service is included in every 28-day rental, so no separate cleaning fee appears after the first week. Extra service visits for big crews, up to twice weekly, are quoted per visit. Each extra visit shows on your itemized quote before you approve the order.
Is the quoted price the out-the-door total with tax?
The quote total is the total. Each quote lists the unit rental, delivery and pickup, servicing, any rush fee and sales tax. No fuel surcharge gets added later, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
Why does the delivery ZIP affect my quote?
Location is one of five things that set the price, along with unit type, dates, servicing and quantity. Delivery on the core Greater Cincinnati route typically starts at $50 round trip. Addresses on scheduled routes farther out are priced on the itemized quote.
How does a church or nonprofit get sales tax removed?
Nonprofit and tax-exempt groups can send an exemption certificate, and sales tax comes off the quote. Multi-unit rates are also available on request for groups renting several units. Ask dispatch about pricing for a church picnic or fundraiser with more than one unit.
Do contractors get better pricing?
Contractor rates are available on request for multi-unit and long-term orders. Approved contractor accounts can pay by net-30 invoice, ACH or business check, and purchase orders are accepted. See construction porta potty rentals for jobsite counts and service details.
How much more does a deluxe or wheelchair-accessible unit cost?
A deluxe flushing unit with a sink typically starts at $275 per event, compared with $165 for a standard unit. A wheelchair-accessible unit typically starts at $225 per event or $225 per 28 days. All three are typical starting prices before tax; your itemized quote is final.
Which costs less: a deluxe unit or a standard unit plus a handwashing station?
A deluxe flushing unit typically starts at $275 per event. A standard unit at $165 plus a handwashing station at $120 starts at $285. The pair costs about $10 more, but the two-sided station lets two people wash at once. All are typical starting prices before tax.
Can I pay cash or pay the driver when the unit arrives?
Drivers do not collect payment on site. Event orders are paid at booking by Visa, Mastercard, American Express or Discover. Approved contractor accounts can pay by ACH, business check or net-30 invoice, and purchase orders are accepted.
Will I be charged if a storm tips the unit over?
Call dispatch when a storm tips a unit, and we return to clean the unit. The rental terms explain how damage is handled. Setting units on level, firm ground away from tree limbs lowers the chance of a tip-over.
Choosing a unit: questions about porta potty types
A standard porta potty fits most jobsites and backyard parties. A deluxe flushing unit adds a foot-pump flush and an inside sink. A VIP cabin gives a porcelain-style flush toilet and a mirror. A wheelchair-accessible unit adds a roll-in floor and handrails. A restroom trailer gives two real bathrooms but needs water and power.
Does a standard porta potty flush?
A standard porta potty does not flush. The standard unit holds waste in a 60-gallon tank, based on the PolyJohn PJN3 reference model, with blue deodorizer added. For a flush, rent a deluxe flushing porta potty with a foot pump.
Which units have a flushing toilet?
Three units flush: the deluxe flushing porta potty uses a foot pump, the VIP luxury cabin has a porcelain-style flush toilet, and the restroom trailer has a flush toilet in each stall. The deluxe unit needs no water or power hookup.
Is there a sink inside the porta potty?
A standard porta potty has a hand sanitizer dispenser but no sink. The deluxe flushing unit adds an inside foot-pump sink with soap and paper towels. For a sink beside standard units, add a free-standing handwashing station.
Does a deluxe unit with a sink need water or power hooked up?
A deluxe flushing unit needs no water or power hookup. The deluxe unit has fresh-water and waste tanks built in, and the flush and the sink both run on foot pumps. The deluxe unit uses the same footprint as a standard porta potty.
Do event units and jobsite units come from the same fleet?
Construction and event rentals use the same standard porta potty. The difference is service and billing: construction units bill every 28 days with weekly service, while event units are a flat rate for up to 7 days. Event units come in blue, gray or pink.
Can I see photos of the inside of a unit?
Interior photos are on each unit page. The standard porta potty page shows the urinal, seat and paper holders. The deluxe page shows the built-in sink, and the restroom trailer page shows the vanities and mirrors.
How big is a standard porta potty?
A standard porta potty is about 91 inches high, 43.5 inches wide and 47 inches deep, based on the PolyJohn PJN3 reference model. The interior is about 41 by 41 inches, the seat height is 19 inches, and the empty unit weighs about 175 pounds.
Do you have a bigger porta potty than the regular size?
The wheelchair-accessible unit is the larger porta potty, at about 62 inches wide and 62 inches long with more than 16 square feet of floor. The extra room also helps a parent with a small child. The reference model is the PolyJohn Comfort XL.
What is a VIP luxury restroom cabin?
A VIP luxury restroom cabin is a single walk-in cabin with a porcelain-style flush toilet, a small sink, a mirror and an interior light. The cabin suits VIP tents and upscale parties. A VIP cabin typically starts at $395 per event, before tax. See VIP luxury porta potties.
Does the unit lock? It will sit in a public place.
Every unit has an inside occupancy latch. For a unit left in a public place, you can add your own padlock to the hasp, and we cut or remove the padlock at pickup. Tell dispatch about the lock when you book.
Do you rent toilets for campsites or RV trips?
Campsite porta potties and RV holding tank pump-outs are covered on our RV and camping toilet page. Campsite units leave the yard cleaned, sanitized and stocked like every other rental. Call dispatch with the site location and dates.
Sizing and quantity questions
Our event planning table lists 2 standard porta potties for 100 guests over 3–4 hours and 3 for 200 guests. Add 1 unit if alcohol is served and 1 if more than half the guests are women. Construction crews of 20 or fewer workers need at least 1 toilet under OSHA rules.
We have 60 people for a 3-hour event. How many units do we need?
Our event planning table lists 1 standard unit for 50 guests and 2 for 100 guests at 3–4 hours. For 60 guests, round up to the next row and plan on 2 units. Two units also cover the extra unit the table adds when alcohol is served.
How many porta potties for 200 guests at a 6-hour event?
Our event planning table lists 4 standard porta potties for 200 guests over 5–6 hours. Add 1 unit if alcohol is served and 1 more if more than half the guests are women. Add at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit to the group.
How many porta potties does a 300-person event need?
Our event planning table lists 3 standard units for 300 guests at 1–2 hours, 4 at 3–4 hours, 5 at 5–6 hours and 6 at 7–8 hours. Add 1 unit if alcohol is served. Use the porta potty calculator to adjust for food and guest mix.
How many porta potties for 500 people?
Our event planning table lists 4 standard units for 500 guests at 1–2 hours, 6 at 3–4 hours, 8 at 5–6 hours and 9 at 7–8 hours. Add 1 unit for alcohol, plus wheelchair-accessible units equal to at least 5% of each cluster, with a minimum of 1.
How many units does a 1,000-person festival need?
Our event planning table lists 8 standard units for 1,000 guests at 1–2 hours, 10 at 3–4 hours, 14 at 5–6 hours and 16 at 7–8 hours. Multi-day festivals also need daily or between-day service, quoted per visit. See festival porta potty rentals.
Does serving alcohol change the number of porta potties?
Serving alcohol adds 1 standard unit to the count from our event planning table. Guests who drink use the restroom more often, so lines build faster. Add 1 more unit if more than half the guests are women.
How many handwashing stations should I add when food is served?
Add 1 handwashing station for every 2–3 standard porta potties when food is served. Each two-sided station holds 22 gallons of fresh water, and the manufacturer rates the PolyJohn Bravo at nearly 350 uses without refilling.
How many porta potties does a crew of 25 workers need?
OSHA requires 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers once a crew passes 20, so 1 standard unit meets the legal minimum for 25 workers. Our recommendation is 1 standard unit per 10 workers on a 40-hour week, which means 3 units. See OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51.
What if my crew is bigger than 200 workers?
For 200 or more workers, OSHA requires 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 50 workers, so a crew of 250 needs at least 5 seats and 5 urinals. Our recommendation is 1 standard unit per 10 workers for a 40-hour week. Above that ratio, add a second weekly service day.
How many toilets does a farm crew need?
OSHA 29 CFR 1928.110 requires 1 toilet and 1 handwashing facility per 20 farm workers, within a quarter-mile walk. A crew of 40 field workers needs at least 2 toilets and 2 handwashing facilities. Read OSHA 1928.110 or see seasonal farm rentals.
How many people can one porta potty handle?
One standard porta potty handles about 50 guests at a 3–4 hour party on our event planning table, or a crew of up to 10 workers for a 40-hour week with weekly service. The standard unit has a 60-gallon holding tank.
Cleaning and servicing questions
Every 28-day rental includes weekly service: pump out waste, clean and sanitize surfaces, refill blue deodorizer, and restock toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Event units arrive cleaned, sanitized and stocked, and weekend events usually need no mid-event service. Extra visits for big crews or multi-day festivals are quoted per visit.
Is there a set service day each week?
Weekly service runs on a schedule set by dispatch for your route. Ask dispatch for your service day when you book, and share gate codes or locked areas. Nobody needs to be on site if the truck can reach the unit.
Can my monthly unit be serviced less than once a week?
Weekly service is the standard schedule on every 28-day rental, and the weekly visit is already included in the 28-day price. A standard construction unit typically starts at $150 per 28 days with weekly service, before tax. Bigger crews can add a second weekly visit.
Do event porta potties get cleaned during the event?
Event units arrive cleaned, sanitized and stocked, and a weekend event usually needs no mid-event service. Multi-day festivals get daily or between-day service, quoted per visit. Tell dispatch your guest count and hours so the unit count covers the whole event.
Can I add extra service for a big crew?
Extra service visits can be added, up to twice weekly, for big crews. Each extra visit is quoted per visit on your itemized quote. Our recommendation is 1 standard unit per 10 workers for a 40-hour week; above that ratio, add a second service day.
Can you show proof of weekly pumping for a permit?
Weekly service is part of every 28-day rental, and each visit pumps the waste tank. Tell dispatch what your permit office or inspector needs to see, and dispatch will explain what service records we can provide for your rental.
Nobody will be on site for the next service. Can we reschedule?
Service can go ahead without anyone on site when the truck can reach the unit and the gate is open or the code is shared. Call or text dispatch if a gate will be locked on service day, and dispatch will work out a new visit time.
How clean is the unit when it arrives?
Every unit leaves the yard cleaned, sanitized and stocked with toilet paper and hand sanitizer, with blue deodorizer in the tank. Restroom trailers are also cleaned and stocked before delivery. Handwashing stations arrive filled with water, soap and paper towels.
How is a handwashing station kept filled during a long rental?
A handwashing station gets a water refill plus fresh soap and paper towels on each service visit. The PolyJohn Bravo reference model holds 22 gallons of fresh water and 24 gallons of gray water. See monthly porta potty rentals for the weekly service schedule.
Placement, access and permit questions
A porta potty needs level, firm ground such as a driveway, gravel or a flat lawn, and the service truck must park within about 25 feet. Backyard placement needs a gate at least 48 inches wide. A Cincinnati street or sidewalk spot needs a DOTE right-of-way permit; private property needs no city permit.
Can the porta potty sit on my front lawn?
A flat lawn works for a porta potty, as long as the ground is firm and the service truck can park within about 25 feet. Keep the unit off septic lids and sprinkler heads. Read the porta potty placement guide before delivery day.
How close to the road does the unit need to be?
The service truck must park within about 25 feet of the unit, because that is the reach of the vacuum hose. A unit far behind a house cannot be pumped. Tell dispatch where the truck can park when you book.
How wide must my gate be for backyard placement?
A gate at least 48 inches wide with a level path fits a standard porta potty, which is 43.5 inches wide. A wheelchair-accessible unit needs a gate about 66 inches wide. The service truck still has to park within about 25 feet of the backyard spot.
Can you carry the unit through my garage or house?
Units are not carried through houses or garages. Backyard placement works only through a gate at least 48 inches wide with a level path for a standard unit. A driveway or side yard is the usual choice when no gate is wide enough.
Can the unit go on a slope next to the driveway?
A mild slope is fine, but a steep grade is not a safe spot for a porta potty. Tell dispatch about steep drives in hilly neighborhoods like Price Hill, Mount Adams and Clifton, so the right truck goes out and the unit stands level.
Where should I avoid placing a unit?
Avoid spots under low wires and tree limbs, over septic lids or sprinkler heads, and within 10 feet of windows, doors and AC intakes when possible. Avoid steep grades too. Pick level, firm ground the truck can reach within about 25 feet.
Our event is in a Cincinnati park. What do we need?
Cincinnati Parks events require a sanitation and waste removal plan in the event profile, and the restroom rental is part of that plan. Event permits also run through the Cincinnati Police Special Events Unit. Confirm the rules with your permit office or venue; this is not legal advice.
Will the unit be safe sitting in a park over the weekend?
A unit left in a park over a weekend can take your own padlock on the hasp, and we cut or remove the padlock at pickup. Call dispatch if anyone vandalizes the unit, and we return to clean the unit. Sunday events get Monday pickup.
Where do I get a right-of-way permit in Cincinnati?
City of Cincinnati right-of-way permits come from the DOTE Permit & License Center at 801 Plum St, Suite 425. A right-of-way permit is needed for a unit on a public street or sidewalk. See the DOTE permits and licenses page.
Should I mark where the unit goes?
Marking the spot with cones, tape or a sign lets the driver set the unit with nobody home. Leave the gate open or share the gate code with dispatch. The driver calls or texts about 30 minutes before arrival in case anything changes.
Events, parties and weddings questions
Event rentals are one flat rate for up to 7 days on site, and units arrive cleaned, sanitized and stocked. A standard event unit typically starts at $165 before tax. Weddings often add deluxe flushing units, VIP cabins or a restroom trailer. Sunday events get Saturday or Friday delivery and Monday pickup.
What restrooms work best for an outdoor wedding?
Outdoor weddings usually pair a restroom trailer or deluxe flushing units with a handwashing station. A restroom trailer gives men's and women's stalls with running sinks but needs water and power. See wedding restroom rentals for counts and setups.
When should a fall wedding couple reserve restrooms?
Book a restroom trailer for an October wedding 2–6 weeks ahead, because May through October is the busy trailer season. Standard and deluxe units usually need only a day of notice. Event orders are paid at booking, which holds your date.
How many restrooms does a 150-guest wedding reception need?
Our event planning table lists 3 standard units for 150 guests over 5–6 hours. Add 1 unit if alcohol is served and 1 more if more than half the guests are women, which brings many receptions to 4 or 5 units. Add at least 1 wheelchair-accessible unit.
Do you rent pink porta potties for showers or parties?
Pink standard porta potties are available for events, along with blue and gray. Ask for pink units when you book a shower, birthday or wedding. Pair the pink units with a handwashing station when food is served.
Can I rent a porta potty for a backyard birthday party?
Backyard birthday parties are a common event rental. A 50-guest party lasting up to 4 hours needs 1 standard unit on our event planning table, plus 1 more if alcohol is served. Backyard placement needs a gate at least 48 inches wide.
Do you rent restrooms for festivals and 5K races?
Festivals, fairs, concerts and 5K races get clusters of standard units, wheelchair-accessible units and handwashing stations. Multi-day festivals add daily or between-day service quoted per visit. The special event restroom page covers smaller public events too.
Is a VIP cabin a good fit for a backyard wedding?
A VIP luxury cabin suits small backyard weddings and VIP tents, with a porcelain-style flush toilet, a small sink, a mirror and an interior light. A VIP cabin typically starts at $395 per event before tax. Bigger guest lists may need a restroom trailer.
Can we get a restroom attendant for a large wedding?
Attendant service is available for big weddings and events. Ask dispatch to add attendant service to your itemized quote, along with the restroom trailer, delivery and pickup. Restroom trailers are cleaned and stocked before delivery.
Construction and long-term rental questions
Construction and long-term rentals bill every 28 days, not prorated, with weekly service included. A standard construction unit typically starts at $150 per 28 days before tax. OSHA 1926.51 requires at least 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers, and our recommendation is 1 standard unit per 10 workers on a 40-hour week.
How does 28-day billing work?
A long-term rental bills every 28 days, with weekly service included in each cycle. The first invoice includes delivery, and pickup is billed at the end. We send a reminder 3 days before each new cycle, so a new charge never comes as a surprise.
Do I have to call to end a long-term rental?
Long-term rentals end when you call or text dispatch to schedule pickup. Until then, the rental keeps running in 28-day cycles. The 3-day reminder before each new cycle is a good time to decide whether the unit stays or goes.
Do I need a porta potty during a home remodel?
Bathroom remodels and water shutoffs often call for a porta potty for the crew or the family. A rental of up to 7 days uses the flat event rate, and longer jobs move to 28-day billing with weekly service. See short-term rentals for remodels.
Is a handwashing station required on a jobsite?
OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51(f) covers washing facilities on construction sites. A handwashing station typically starts at $125 per 28 days before tax, with water refilled and soap and towels restocked on each service. Read the OSHA jobsite toilet guide for details.
Do you rent units for warehouses or plant shutdowns?
Plant shutdowns, warehouses and building water outages use the same standard, wheelchair-accessible and handwashing units as jobsites. Short shutdowns use the flat rate for up to 7 days, and longer outages use 28-day billing with weekly service. See industrial portable restrooms.
Can I rent a unit for a whole pool or ballfield season?
Pools, ballfields, farms and campgrounds rent for the season on 28-day billing with weekly service included. A standard unit typically starts at $150 per 28 days before tax. A handwashing station can join the same order and the same service visit.
Can I keep a porta potty for a six-month project?
A six-month project runs on 28-day cycles with weekly service, which works out to about 7 cycles. Billing continues until you call or text dispatch to schedule pickup. See long-term porta potty rentals for contractor details.
Restroom trailer questions

Restroom trailers typically start at $1,095 for a 1–3 day event, before tax.
Do restroom trailers have air conditioning?
Restroom trailers have climate control, along with lights, mirrors and running sinks. The climate control runs on the dedicated 110-volt, 20-amp outlet near the trailer. A generator can be arranged for an added charge where no outlet is close enough.
Does the trailer have separate men's and women's sides?
The 2-stall restroom trailer has a men's side and a women's side, each with a flush toilet and a running sink. Both sides have mirrors and lights. See the restroom trailer rental page for interior photos.
How much does a restroom trailer cost?
A 2-stall restroom trailer typically starts at $1,095 for a 1–3 day event, before tax. Delivery, pickup, any generator or water tank, and attendant service show on the same itemized quote. Your itemized quote is final.
Can I get a restroom trailer on short notice?
A restroom trailer on short notice depends on the date, so call dispatch to check. From May through October, book a restroom trailer 2–6 weeks ahead. Standard and deluxe units are the fallback, with same-day delivery usually possible before 12 p.m.
Is a restroom trailer worth the cost over porta potties for a wedding?
A restroom trailer gives wedding guests flush toilets, running sinks and climate control, while deluxe flushing units cost less and need no hookups. A trailer typically starts at $1,095 and a deluxe unit at $275 per event, before tax. Pick by guest count and the hookups at the venue.
Does the restroom trailer arrive clean?
Restroom trailers are cleaned and stocked before delivery. For big weddings and events, attendant service can be added to keep the trailer ready through the event. Ask dispatch to include attendant service on the itemized quote.
Wheelchair-accessible unit and handwashing questions

Can someone in a wheelchair use a regular porta potty?
A standard porta potty has an interior of about 41 by 41 inches, which leaves no room for the 60-inch turning space accessible units need. A wheelchair-accessible unit gives a roll-in floor and a door opening of about 32 inches. See the ADA porta potty page.
How many accessible units does my event need?
The 2010 ADA Standards §213.2 call for at least 5% of portable units in each cluster to be accessible, with a minimum of 1. A cluster of 20 units needs at least 1 accessible unit, and a cluster of 40 needs 2. Read ADA Standards §213 and confirm with your permit office or venue.
How big is the wheelchair-accessible unit?
The wheelchair-accessible unit is about 91 inches high, 62 inches wide and 62 inches long, based on the PolyJohn Comfort XL reference model. The door opening is about 74 by 32 inches, the holding tank holds 33 gallons, and the unit weighs about 240 pounds.
What makes a porta potty wheelchair-accessible?
A wheelchair-accessible porta potty has a ground-level roll-in floor, a wide door and handrails. The 2010 ADA Standards §304 call for a 60-inch diameter turning space. The manufacturer describes the Comfort XL as wheelchair accessible; confirm requirements with your permit office or venue.
What kind of ground does an accessible unit need?
A wheelchair-accessible unit needs a flat, firm path to the door, such as pavement, a driveway or level gravel. Backyard placement needs a gate about 66 inches wide. The service truck must park within about 25 feet of the unit.
Does a handwashing station need electricity?
A handwashing station needs no electricity. Both sides run on foot pumps, and the PolyJohn Bravo reference model holds 22 gallons of fresh water and 24 gallons of gray water. Set the station on level ground near the porta potties.
How big is a handwashing station?
A handwashing station is about 62 inches high, 26.5 inches wide and 21.5 inches deep, based on the PolyJohn Bravo reference model. The station has two sides, so two people can wash at once. The narrow footprint fits easily through a 48-inch gate.

A rental date is held once the event order is paid at booking, since there is no separate deposit. Cancellation is free until 24 hours before the scheduled delivery, so booking early carries little risk. Book restroom trailers 2–6 weeks ahead from May through October.
What is your refund policy if plans change?
Cancellation is free until 24 hours before the scheduled delivery. Same-day orders can be cancelled free until the truck leaves the yard. The rental terms and cancellation page explains the full policy, including extensions and damage.
Can I add a handwashing station after I book?
Call or text dispatch to add a handwashing station or another unit, and the change goes on an updated itemized quote. Adding the station before delivery day lets one truck bring everything, so all units share one delivery charge.
Can I extend my rental?
An event rental covers up to 7 days on site for one flat rate; call dispatch to keep the unit longer. Long-term rentals simply continue in 28-day cycles until you schedule pickup, and a reminder goes out 3 days before each new cycle.
Will someone come get the unit, or do I have to call for pickup?
Event pickups are set on your order, so the truck comes back on the scheduled pickup date. Long-term rentals need a call or text to schedule pickup. Sunday events get Monday pickup, since trucks do not run on Sunday.
What information do you need for a quote?
A quote needs the delivery ZIP, delivery and pickup dates, unit type, quantity, and guest count or crew size. Tell dispatch where the unit should stand and about gates, slopes or low wires. We reply within 1 business hour during open hours.
Are you open on Sunday?
Phones and dispatch are open Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and closed Sunday. A quote request sent on Sunday gets a reply Monday morning. Trucks do not deliver or pick up on Sunday.
Winter and weather questions
From November through March, we add non-freezing treatment to porta potty tanks. Handwashing stations can freeze below 32°F, so hand sanitizer dispensers serve as the winter backup. Units still need level, firm ground the truck can reach within about 25 feet, and a tipped unit gets a return visit to clean.
Do porta potties freeze in winter?
From November through March, we add non-freezing treatment to porta potty tanks to keep the tanks from freezing. Weekly service continues on 28-day rentals through the cold months. Read the winter porta potty guide for Ohio.
Can I use a handwashing station in January?
A handwashing station can freeze below 32°F, so a January rental is risky on cold days. Hand sanitizer dispensers are the winter backup, and every standard unit has one inside. Tell dispatch your dates so the order fits the weather.
Will strong wind knock a porta potty over?
A porta potty set on level, firm ground away from tree limbs stands up best in storms. Call dispatch if wind tips a unit, and we return to clean the unit. Tell dispatch about exposed, windy spots when you book.
Does rain or a muddy lawn affect placement?
A soft, muddy lawn is a poor spot for a porta potty, because units need level, firm ground. A driveway or gravel pad works better after heavy rain. The service truck must also park within about 25 feet of the unit.
What should a winter event plan for?
A winter event should plan on hand sanitizer instead of handwashing stations on days below 32°F, since stations can freeze. Tanks get non-freezing treatment from November through March. Set units on cleared, level ground the service truck can reach within about 25 feet.
Is a restroom trailer comfortable at a summer event?
Restroom trailers have climate control, which keeps guests comfortable at a hot summer reception. The climate control needs the dedicated 110-volt, 20-amp outlet within 100 feet, or a generator arranged for an added charge. See seasonal rentals for summer-long units.
The 10 rental questions to settle first
What does a porta potty rental cost for a single event?
A standard porta potty for one event of up to 7 days typically starts at $165, and a deluxe flushing unit typically starts at $275. Delivery and pickup on the core Greater Cincinnati route typically start at $50 round trip per address. These are typical starting prices before tax; your itemized quote is final.
What is the cutoff time for same-day porta potty delivery?
The same-day cutoff is 12 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Call before noon and same-day delivery is usually possible inside the Greater Cincinnati route; later calls go on the next route. A same-day order may add a rush fee, and the rush fee is shown on the quote before you pay.
Which areas does Mathew Rental Works deliver to?
Our same-day route covers Cincinnati and Hamilton, Butler, Warren and Clermont counties. Dayton-area towns and Springfield get same-day delivery when a truck is routed north, and next-day delivery otherwise. Northeast Ohio is served on scheduled routes booked 2 or more days ahead. Check your ZIP on the service areas page.
How many porta potties do I need for 100 guests?
Our event planning table lists 1 standard unit for 100 guests at 1–2 hours, 2 units at 3–6 hours and 3 units at 7–8 hours. Add 1 unit if alcohol is served and 1 more if more than half the guests are women. Use the porta potty calculator for your exact count.
How often are long-term porta potties cleaned?
Long-term porta potties on a 28-day rental get weekly service, and the weekly visit is included in the price. Each visit pumps out waste, cleans and sanitizes surfaces, refills blue deodorizer, and restocks toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Big crews can add a second weekly visit, quoted per visit.
What is the difference between a standard and a deluxe porta potty?
A deluxe flushing porta potty adds a foot-pump flush and an inside foot-pump sink with soap and paper towels to the standard footprint. A standard unit is non-flushing, with a urinal, a seat and a hand sanitizer dispenser. Standard event units typically start at $165 and deluxe units at $275, before tax.
How many toilets does OSHA require on a construction site?
OSHA 29 CFR 1926.51 requires 1 toilet for 20 or fewer workers, 1 toilet seat and 1 urinal per 40 workers for 20 or more, and 1 seat and 1 urinal per 50 workers for 200 or more. Our recommendation is 1 standard unit per 10 workers on a 40-hour week. Read the OSHA 1926.51 standard.
What hookups does a restroom trailer need?
A restroom trailer needs a standard garden-hose water connection, a dedicated 110-volt, 20-amp outlet within 100 feet, and level ground. A generator and a water tank can be arranged for an added charge when the site has neither. Book a restroom trailer 2–6 weeks ahead for dates from May through October.
Do you rent wheelchair-accessible porta potties?
Wheelchair-accessible porta potties, often searched as ADA porta potties, are part of our fleet, with a ground-level roll-in floor, a wide door and handrails. A wheelchair-accessible unit typically starts at $225 per event or $225 per 28 days, before tax. See the wheelchair-accessible unit page.
How far in advance should I book a porta potty?
One day of notice is enough for most standard units in Greater Cincinnati, because next-day delivery is our standard for orders placed the day before. Restroom trailers need 2–6 weeks of notice from May through October. Northeast Ohio orders need at least 2 days of notice for a scheduled route.
